My name is Kevin McKernan, and I‘m a Web Developer from Denver, CO. I built my first website at the age of 12 (for my Scout troop!), and since then I have built products and websites for clients, along with my own personal projects. I enjoy collaborating with other developers, working through technical challenges, and mentoring members of my team.
Senior Web Engineer at 303 Software
October 2017 – Current
At 303 Software I work on exciting product builds while mentoring my fellow team members. I have also helped our devops team start adopting Docker on new product builds. For the first 7 months I worked on a product team for our client Four Winds Interactive, where I led the project along with one of their developers. Some of my other responsibilities include estimating projects, interviewing candidates, and establishing new internal processes.
Web Developer – Consultant at Sipree Inc.
March 2017 – December 2017
As a consultant, I helped Sipree build a WordPress based platform for managing class-action lawsuits. The platform provided easy access to frequently asked questions, along with a modern claim process (as opposed to submissions via postcards). The cases we supported totaled $250,000,000 in settlements. I worked remotely on an agile product team, helping bridge the gap between the marketing team and the payment backend team.
Senior Front End Developer at Pierry Inc.
March 2016 – July 2017
At Pierry, I led all front end development projects including marketing preference centers, ecommerce websites, and promotional microsites. I implemented process improvements, including using version control on all projects, proper deployment processes, and regular code reviews. I worked closely with the creative team to produce beautiful, responsive experiences on the web.
Lead Developer at Luminary Web Strategies
September 2015 – March 2016
At Luminary Web Strategies I helped create better development practices and workflows, while managing another developer. My work consisted of custom ecommerce plugins and functionality, site maintenance, and working as an external contractor to Fansided.com.
Director of Technology at Sublime Digital
June 2014 – September 2015
As Director of Technology and Co-Founder of Sublime Digital, my responsibilities included: leading the development of 30+ websites, hiring and mentoring four developers, implementing development processes, and server administration. We worked on prominent global brands, including Crown Royal and Energizer, with design agency MillerSmith. Sublime Digital closed its doors after the departure of my Co-Founder.
